Big Open Day for Qld caravan buyers

On Saturday February 2, two well-known Queensland off-road caravan manufacturers – Australian Off Road and Sunland – are throwing open their doors to the public.

For Australian Off Road in Caloundra, it’s a double dip, as they will also be at the Melbourne Showgrounds for the Victorian Caravan, Camping & Touring Supershow from February 20-25.

Starting from 8am, AOR will be opening their modern, purpose-built factory at 39 Ron Parkenson Crescent, Bells Creek for visitors to tour and inspect their full model range, from the single axle Odyssey Hybrid Pop Top Super Camper, to the luxury tandem-axle Aurora.

A day-long sausage sizzle, the chance to chat with technical experts on vehicle and trailer weights, solve electrical problems with AOR’s in-house auto electrician and test tow some models, are among the attractions.

As a further inducement, AOR is offering open-day specials of half price lithium batteries, or inverter upgrades on all new orders.

Back in the AOR 2019 line-up after a sabbatical year, but unfortunately not on display on Feb 2, is the latest Eclipse Series IV Pop-Top – the big brother to the Odyssey.

Initially introduced in early 2018, the 2019 Eclipse  is designed for couples and families wanting extra internal space and bunk options, with a four-seater dinette and a large L-shaped kitchen amongst its features.

Unique to the latest Eclipse is its lift-up bed that when positioned in the ‘Day Mode’, opens up additional living space in the lounge area.

Its RRP of $82,900 pitches it in between the $71,900 Odyssey and the 300mm-longer $98,900 Quantum.

Meanwhile on the same day at 1 Strathvale Court, Caboolture (about 30 minutes drive from AOR), another of Queensland’s blue chip off-road RV manufacturers, Sunland, will also be opening its doors

Unlike AOR, Sunland won’t be at the Victorian Caravan Supershow this year, but their Open Day will give anyone interested in a quality off-road van a chances to see how they are made, look over the various models in their range and chat specs and options with staff and key component suppliers like Aussie Traveller, Dometic and Cruisemaster.

Sunland’s Open Day will give visitors a look inside the heart of our business and find out in detail, how the vans are built. New to Sunland’s 2019 range is its latest Phoenix Off Road model, which was used as the base for one of the most expensive caravans built in Australia last year.

Visitors can also enjoy a sausage sizzle and refreshments while getting towing and hook-up advice from experts throughout the day.

Unlike AOR’s Open Day, Sunland visitors need to pre-register  for any one of three sessions held throughout the day – 9am, 11am or 1pm. Click here to register.
