Melbourne’s Track Trailer is hoping as many as 100 Track Trailer vehicles and their owners will gather at this year’s Big Red Bash desert charity concert in early July to help celebrate the off-road camper manufacturer's 30th anniversary.
Track Trailer Marketing Manger Lloyd Waldron said last year’s event saw more than 40 Track Trailer off-road campers, mainly Mates and Tvans, set up at the base of the iconic Big Red sand dune at the eastern end of the Simpson Desert for the two-day concert.
Waldron is hoping to more than double that by enticing more of the company's latest Topaz hybrid pop-tops as well as some of its earlier models.
“I’d like to see a few of our more obscure products there such as the flip-overs and soft floor Eagle tent trailers that we did years ago. It would be great to get a lot of those products together for the event,” he said.
On display at the company’s open day last year was the third production Tvan, which Waldron described as being in “surprisingly still bloody good nick” after 15 years of service.
There’s also a good chance a brand new 2015 Tvan model, which is due for release in late-May and set to feature significant upgrades as well as a range of new options, will be attending the event.
With tickets just going on sale online on the Birdsville Big Red Bash website, Waldron said 16 owners had so far expressed interest in taking part in the third annual Desert Music Event organised by the Born to Run Foundation.
As Track Trailer is a sponsor of the July 4-5 event, owners who pre-register get a 30 per cent discount on the two-day concert ticket, plus their own exclusive camping area and an event tee-shirt.
This year’s line-up of country and popular music luminaries that will perform on the sound stage set up on top of the famous dune include Jimmy Barnes, Diesel, Jon Stevens, the McClymonts, Frankie J Holden, Wilbur Wilde, and Victoria Edwards.
