Bendleby Ranges wins Bronze award

Scenic Flinders Ranges camping destination picks up another top tourism gong

A popular South Australian family getaway location known for some of the best four-wheel driving and camping in the Flinders Ranges, has picked up a Bronze Award in the Adventure Tourism category at the 2022 Australia Tourism awards.

It’s the latest gong for Bendleby Ranges which has earned a swag of Australian and South Australian tourism and Ecotourism awards over the last decade including a Silver award in the Adventure Tourism category at the 2021 Qantas Australian Tourism Awards.

Bendleby Ranges also holds certifications including Advanced Eco Tourism – Green Travel Leader, Quality Tourism Accredited Business, Quality Tourism Accredited Business – Camps & Adventure, Sustainable Tourism Accredited Business, and Climate Action Certification.

Taking out second place in the 2022 Adventure Tourism category was Ocean Rafting based in Queensland’s Whitsundays, while Queensland and Western Australia-based bushwalking tour specialist The Hike Collective took out the the top Gold award.

Outback Queensland Masters won Gold in the Festivals and Events category

Bendleby Ranges' co-owner Kylie Luckraft thanked her hard-working team and loyal customers for the latest award.

"Bendleby Ranges is an incredible place, but it is the commitment and hard work of our team that makes it such a special destination. We also thank our guests who continue to support us and share our passion for adventure and nature," she said

Other finalists in the 2022 Adventure Tourism category included the ACT’s Dynamic Motivation Mountain Biking, NSW’s Balloon Aloft, the NT’s World Expeditions-Australian Walking Holidays, Victoria’s Absolute Outdoors-Grampians Peaks Walking Company and the Apple Isle’s Tasmanian Photography Workshops.

Some of the other category winners at the 2022 Australian Tourism Awards included Tasmania’s wukalina Walk (Aboriginal & Torres Strait Island Tourism Experience), Queensland’s Fun over 50 Holidays (Tour & Transport Operators), Queensland’s BIG4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort (Caravan & Holiday Parks), WA’s Live Ningaloo (Ecotourism), Tasmania’s Bangor Vineyard Shed (Tourism Wineries, Distilleries & Breweries), Queensland’s Outback Queensland Masters (Festivals & Events), and the Bundaberg Rum Distillery Visitor Experience (Tourist Attractions).
