We’ve seen plenty of tough-truck motorhomes from Australia, along with the USA and Europe, but now China is getting in on the act with the Dongfeng Motor Corporation unleashing its Warrior M20 Antarctic 4WD Off-Road RV.
According to Car News China, the Dongfeng Warrior M20 motorhome is based on the Chinese-built Warrior M20 single-cab-chassis light truck, which gets power from a grunty Dongfeng-Cummins 6.7-litre six-cylinder diesel engine producing 232kW and 1200Nm of torque from 1200rpm, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.

Buyers of the four-wheel drive motorhome should be able to venture far and wide with the tough truck also boasting a 140L fuel tank, 400mm ground clearance, and 850mm wading depth, along with an approach angle of 33 degrees and a departure angle of 36 degrees. Scaling high peaks shouldn’t be a problem either with Dongfeng claiming the M20 can operate at a maximum altitude of 4500m.
As far as interior comforts go, there’s a 2025mm×1350mm main bed perched over the driver’s cab, and the dinette/lounge also converts to more beds if required.

Appliance-wise, there’s a a washing machine, induction cooktop and sink in the kitchenette, as well as a hot water unit, air-conditioner, large TV, and a combination shower/toilet.
Dongfeng’s Warrior vehicles are available in both civilian and military versions and also include Hummer-style utes as well as SUVs. The military-inspired trucks from China’s second-largest car manufacturer aren’t currently available in Australia so it’s unlikely we’ll see a go-anywhere Warrior M20 motorhome on Aussie Outback trails any time soon, although an EV version could be on the cards...
