Bailey Rangefinder in the black

Black-trimmed 2019 Rangefinder II and new off-road Coastal van at Sydney show

The stars of the Bailey Australia stand at this year's NSW Caravan, Camping and Holiday Supershow were the latest 2019-model Rangefinder and Coastal caravan ranges, which stood out with enhanced interior and exterior design plus more features as standard.

The refreshed Rangefinder II series -- only available in Lunar, Capricorn and Nebula at this stage -- features revised exterior styling including new black plastic side skirts and black bumpers, new LED marker lights and tail lights and new-design blue decals.

Inside, there have been significant improvements, starting with a larger kitchen sink with commercial-style mixer tap, a new taller cupboard design available in a range of new colours, and a new lounge conversion set-up where the front lounge can be converted into a double bed, boosting sleeping capacity from two to four.

The seating area is covered in a new material, while the electrical system is run from a new BMPro touch-screen tablet conveniently attached to a wall in the entry door area.

The Rangefinder II Nebula 22ft 6in display van was priced at $83,775, although it was fitted with a number of options including independent suspension, ‘Primal’ alloy wheels and D035 hitch. The Rangefinder II Capricorn 22ft 6in van starts at $78,500.

The Nebula and Capricorn versions boast a 2150kg Tare and 500kg payload, along a light 100kg towball download at Tare.

Bailey Coastal goes off-road

Bailey also used the Supershow to unveil a new off-road single axle Adventura version of its entry-level Coastal Bondi caravan.

The 17ft 4in two-berth, north-south bed full-height ensuite van is around 400kg heavier than the standard touring model, with a 1960kg Tare and ATM of 2400kg, but comes loaded with gear for its $69,999 opening price.

Bondi Adventura highlights include new-design Bailey decals, black side skirts and bumpers, new 16-inch alloy wheels shod with 245/70R16 off-road tyres, full-length six-inch chassis rails, Dexter DSC and rear bar with spare wheel.

Off-grid camping is within reach with 210L fresh water and 110L grey water capacity, two 120Ah AGM batteries and two 150W solar panels. Standard interior inclusions extend to a reverse-cycle air-conditioner, Sirocco fan, microfibre leather-look upholstery, compressor fridge/freezer and 22-inch TV.
