Bailey Australia is expanding its network of factory-owned dealerships, more recently taking over the former high-visibility Lagoon Caravans site in Campbellfield on the corner of Cooper Street and Rex Road in Melbourne's north – just around the corner from its Campbellfield HQ. The new Bailey Victoria retail site replaces Canterbury Caravans as the company’s Victorian dealership and follows the establishment of Bailey (NSW) in Morisset, near Newcastle last year and Bailey (QLD), which has been operating since July this year on a 4400sq m former Volvo/Mack service site, but was opened formally in early November.
The establishment of Bailey (VIC) also brings a new level of affirmative action to the company’s dealerships, with the company’s former National Marketing Manager, Gina Stanwell appointed as Dealer Principal.
Aged 32, Stanwell is believed to be Australia’s youngest female RV dealer principal and joins Bailey (QLD) DP Karen Garbutt in the frontline of the company’s plan to increase its market share dramatically in 2018.
She will be joined in operating the Victorian dealership by Taylor Woolacott in sales and Eddie Vanderstadt, who will be responsible for new and used van hand-overs, parts and servicing.
Following its hot mix sealing, the new 4000sq m Bailey (VIC) will be developed over the coming months to house Bailey Australia’s first ‘Bailey Experience Centre’, where potential caravan buyers will be encouraged to immerse themselves in the Bailey culture, its patented construction system (Alu-Tech) featuring the benefits of its lightweight architecture.
Similar ‘Bailey Experience Centres’ will be established at the company’s NSW and Queensland company-owned dealerships during 2018.
Dedicated workshops
The Victorian Bailey dealership will also house the second Bailey Australia dedicated caravan workshop, with six-metre high hoists and featuring three, three-bay workshops which is due to become operational by the end of the first quarter of 2018.
Similar service facilities will be rolled out in NSW as Bailey seeks to establish itself as Australia’s foremost specialist, Australia-wide, to service and maintain all European RV brands.
A Bailey Australia National Parts Replenishment Centre is also planned to become operational in 2018 to further underpin its continued commitment to the Australian market.
The establishment of Bailey (VIC) has also led to a management re-structure at Bailey Australia effective from November 13.
Company founder, Adrian van Geelen, will step back from day-to-day management of Bailey Australia to oversee the company’s overall operation and growth, with former Group Finance Manager Anthony Pati taking up the role of General Manager and Lance van Geelen becoming National Marketing and Commercial Manager.
Three years from its establishment, Bailey Australia now has 75 employees and is currently exporting some of its vans, mostly to New Zealand.
