Avida updates Leura motorhome

Entry-level, two-berth compact motorhome gets new look for 2020

NSW's Avida has given its baby B-class Leura motorhome a mini makeover for the new decade.

While the entry-level model's basic layout stays the same -- front kitchenette, central lounge/dinette with electric drop-down bed and full-width rear ensuite -- the 2020-model Leura benefits from some decor and equipment upgrades including a bigger 138 litre Thetford fridge that now sits to the left of the entrance, replacing the previous 105L unit that was located under the kitchen bench opposite (a 150L compressor fridge is available as an option).

Compact Leura has been updated for 2020

The kitchen has been redesigned with a new cupboard door and soft-close drawers, while the rest of the interior benefits from new cupboard handles, new contemporary-style white cabinetry, new timber-look kitchen finishes and some new colours available for furniture fascias.

The electrical control panel has also been relocated above the entrance door, which has moved slightly, while other tweaks include a redesigned bathroom vanity, new timber sliding bathroom door and a new light under the drop-down bed.

Bigger fridge now sits next to the entrance

Introduced in 2014, the Leura is Avida's entry-level, cab-chassis-based motorhome. It's based on the Fiat Ducato and measures 6714mm long and 2890mm high and has a GVM up to 4400kg.

Pricing for the two-berth motorhome is around $125,000 drive-away, according to a number of vehicles currently available at Avida dealers around Australia. Click here for a 3D tour of the new layout.

Meanwhile, Avida is set to release a new up-spec, 7135mm long slide-out C-class motorhome model next month. Based on the latest Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 418 platform, the new four-berth Silverton will feature a slide-out queen bed/fridge, kitchen, dinette and rear ensuite, along with a second double bed above the driver's cabin.
