Avida reveals new Mercedes motorhome

New C-class Silverton delivers spacious interior for a car licence motorhome

NSW motorhome specialist Avida has pulled the wraps off a new up-spec. 7.1m long, C-class motorhome based on the latest Mercedes-Benz Sprinter cab-chassis that can be driven on a standard car licence.

Priced from $159,990 drive-away, the new Avida Silverton offers sleeping for up to four people on a slide-out, east-west walk-around queen bed and a double, ladder-accessible bed over the driver’s cabin.

A small dinette with fixed seating for one is located directly behind the driver's seat, with an extendable table that allows up to three to join in for dinner with the use of the swiveling front seats.

There's also a galley with curved benchtop running along much of the onside wall, opposite both the dinette and main bedroom area, that includes a large three-way fridge/freezer, sink with drainer, four burner cooktop grill and microwave.

Slide-out increases walking space around queen bed

A solid sliding door separates the main living area from a full width rear ensuite, which includes a swivel toilet, vanity with ceramic bowl sink, and separate shower cubicle.

Styling wise, the upmarket interior design includes handle-less cupboards and soft-close drawers, while a pull-out pantry and full length wardrobe are among a number of internal storage options.

Other standard features on the Silverton include 100 litre fresh water and 100 litre grey water tanks, instant hot water unit, 100Ah battery, two 4kg gas bottles, roof-mounted air conditioner, external ‘entertainment’ unit, radio and smart TV, roll-out awning, electric entry step and a reverse camera.

Only thing missing in the kitchen is a conventional oven

The 3.23m high Avida Silverton is powered by Mercedes’ 130kW/400Nm four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine with nine-speed auto transmission; GVM is 4200kg with a GCM of 5500kg.

The Avida Silverton displayed at the recent Victorian Caravan Supershow was fitted with a few options including leather upholstery that pushed its driveaway price to $164,590.

"The Silverton will be a great addition to the expanding Avida motorhomes and caravans range, offering customers a compact motorhome with a slide out, on a Mercedes chassis,” Avida Sales and Marketing manager Billy Falconer said.
