The super-swish, $200,000-plus motorhome market is starting to heat up, with Avida set to release a new Iveco-based motorhome with all the comforts from home including three electric slide-outs, three televisions and two fridges. To be unveiled at the NSW Caravan, Camping & Holiday Supershow from April 25-30, the new Avida Fremantle is priced from $280,990 and will sit alongside the 9.6m long, Isuzu-based Longreach at the top of Avida’s now eight model motorhome range. Like the Longreach, the 8.61m long Fremantle requires a truck licence to drive, with a GVM of 7200kg. The base vehicle is an Iveco 70C chassis with 150kW/470Nm four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, airbag suspension and optional eight-speed automatic transmission.
There’s currently just one, four-berth layout available, with slide-outs for the kitchen, lounge/dinette and rear bedroom. There’s also a separate shower and toilet, and another double ‘loft’ bed in the Luton peak over the driver's cabin.
As well as two fridges – a 190 litre three-way fridge/freezer and 90 litre compressor ‘bar’ fridge -- the kitchen includes a triple slide out pantry, four burner stove with grille and gas oven, and a stainless steel sink with water filter.
Avida says those lucky enough to own one will be able to “mix up your favourite drink from the slide out cocktail bar and separate 90 litre compressor bar fridge in the entertaining area”.
The long list of standard features includes a 48in TV with soundbar plus two other TVs, day and night shades, a queen bed with electrically-adjustable back rest, 160W solar panel system with regulator, remote-start 3.6kva generator, hydraulic stabilisers, leather upholstery, tow bar and wiring, 2000W inverter, powered awning and entry step, outside entertainment locker, external shower, front load washing machine, portable vacuum cleaner and a smart phone-controlled hot water/air heater system and air conditioner.
The Fremantle also comes with 100 litre fresh water, 100 litre grey water and 19 litre black water tanks.
“The new 2017 model Fremantle is currently offered as a C type motorhome with a bed over the cabin allowing you to sleep and seat four people comfortably,” Avida’s sales and marketing manager Billy Falconer said.
Full details on the Fremantle motorhome should be available soon on Avida’s website.
