NSW’s Avida RV teased campervan enthusiasts at this year’s Queensland Caravan Show with a mock-up display of its new entry-level Spirit campervan, which is due to go into production in August.
Slotting under the work-and-play Avida Escape campervan, which has been upgraded for 2016, the all-new Spirit model is based on a long wheelbase Fiat Ducati van and is slightly shorter overall than the Escape at just under 6.0m.
Pricing for the Spirit starts at RRP$93,990, but there are a range of options available that can turn it from a reasonably comfortable campervan into a luxurious couple or four-berth family tourer.
These include a $4000 optional electric ‘roll-down’ double bed that drops down over the rear lounge/dinette, that also converts to two single beds. There’s also the option for an additional $3400 of replacing the standard wardrobe with a combination shower/toilet.
Standard equipment on the Spirit campervan includes a 100 litre fresh water and 60 litre grey water tanks, 4kg gas bottle, 14 litre hot water system, 100Ah house battery, 22in TV/DVD, 60 litre fridge, and a stove/sink combo.
Avida also had on display for the first time in Brisbane its unique, wheelchair-accessible C-class Esperance motorhome, which was introduced a couple of years ago.
Fitted with an electric entry ramp, fold-down rear double bed and wheel-chair accessible bathroom, it’s the only production-model, wheelchair-friendly motorhome available in Australia according to Avida.
The optioned-up display model based on the latest Iveco cab-chassis, was priced at $205,600 drive-away.
