Avan Golf gets behind big show network
Large Melbourne manufacturer signs up as major sponsor of 16 Outdoor Living & Caravan Expo showsMajor Aussie RV manufacturer Avan/Golf is putting its marketing muscle behind Australia's largest network of caravan and camping shows.
A new multi-year national partnership will see Melbourne-built Avan and Golf caravans, campers and motorhomes take centre stage at each of the 16 caravan shows run annually around Australia by the Outdoor Living & Caravan Expo group.
Avan's General Manager of Sales and Operations, Steve Doughty, said the partnership is one of the most significant the company has undertaken to date.
“This collaboration is a major step forward in our ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality products to the market at affordable prices," Doughty said.
He said the 'Presenting Partner' sponsorship will include having Avan/Golf 'super sites' at all 16 shows this year, as well as participation in a number of 'outside projects'.
"We have a super site at the Geelong show (this month) and will have the new Golf Linwood G7 dual slide-on on display," he said.
Outdoor Living & Caravan Expo CEO Matt Hilton said the multi-year commitment from Avan/Golf "is a strong endorsement of the platform we’ve built".
"We’re genuinely excited about what it means for both brands as we continue to scale nationally,” he said.
Fast-growing show circuit
The Outdoor Living & Caravan Expo is Australia's fastest-growing and largest caravan show organiser, with a schedule of 16 shows in 2026, mostly in Victoria and NSW.
Most other dedicated RV shows around Australia are run by state industry organisations, including Caravan Industry Victoria (five annual shows), Caravanning Queensland (four shows), and Caravan & Camping Industry Association NSW (four shows).
Doughty said Avan/Golf will continue to be an exhibitor at state body-run caravan shows, including major Caravan Industry Victoria events like the Victorian Supershow.
Also ploughing promotional dollars into Outdoor Living & Caravan Expo events in 2026 is Mars Campers (Premium Partner) and CIL Insurance (Industry Partner).
Old school approach
After starting off building folding-wall A-Liner campers in the early-1990s, Pakenham, Victoria-based Avan has grown to become one of Australia's biggest selling RV manufacturers. The family-run business currently offers a wide variety of locally-made recreational vehicles including its range of Golf-branded models.
Not very active on social media, the 32-year old Aussie manufacturer prefers a more face-to-face 'offline' approach when it comes to sales and marketing of its sharply-priced RVs (although there are quite a few 2026-plated dealer vans for sale on caravancampingsales).
This includes a network of large modern showrooms around the country and some of the biggest exhibitor displays at consumer shows, including indoor stands with as many as 60 or more RVs on display at the Victorian Caravan Supershow in recent years.
