Another big-ticket caravan park has opened its security gates to travelers.
The new NRMA St Helens Waterfront Holiday Park opened this week after a $10 million, three year redevelopment of the site, not far from the town of St Helens.
The Waterfront Holiday park is in a prime position, overlooking the stunning Georges Bay on the north-east coast of Tasmania, and just a few minutes drive from the breathtaking Bay of Fires.
Designed for families as well as couples, the new park is loaded with features including a jumping pillow, camp kitchen, BBQ shelter, kids playground, and rec room (although surprisingly there's no pool).
There is, however, a fancy restaurant and function centre on site called the Parkside Bar and Kitchen, that seats up to 200 people.
All up, the new park has 26 cabins and 45 camping sites, with a powered site currently going for around $45 per night.
“The park itself has been custom designed and built, we’ve made sure that our park is unique and that it differentiates itself from the rest of the market,” park manager Sally Pendergast said.
The independently owned and operated St Helens park is the latest to join the NRMA Parks and Resorts stable, which will soon comprise 44 parks with the addition of other new parks in Stockton Beach in NSW, Yarrawonga on the NSW/Victoria border, Warrnambool and Halls Gap in Victoria and on the Whitsunday Coast in Queensland.
