NSW-based Carlight Caravans and Trailers, importer of brands such as Caravelair and Euro Caravans, has added another line-up of ultralight European hard-body campers to its RV range.
Marketed under the Jolly Caravans brand, the new to Australia range kicks off with two models affordably priced at less than $27,000, called the Ariba and Jolly.
With both boasting a sub-one tonne ATM to make them towable by almost any passenger vehicle in Australia, the full composite models are built in Eastern Europe with fully galvanised chassis, an AL-KO override braking system, torsion bar suspension and tough fibreglass wall/roof construction.
The entry-level Jolly Eriba is a lightweight caravan-camper trailer with dual entry points, and comes equipped standard with a 150kg-rated jockey wheel, two front and rear buffers and roof rails, two 700 × 500 side windows with blinds, a roof window and lockable side door, and a mattress with wooden underbox shelving.
Also part of the Eriba package is 12V LED lighting, two adjustable support legs, a front storage box, a spare wheel (165/70 R13) with spare wheel bracket fixing, a 20-litre water tank and a 300×500 window with blind on the front wall.
Electrics include a 12V powers system with 10AMP MPPT regulator, an 100amp auxiliary battery, internal/external 240V powerpoints and a 120Watt flexi solar panel.
The compact Ariba measures 2600mm long (body), 1730mm wide and 2100mm high, and weighs just 430kg (Tare) and 750kg (ATM).
The less angular, more teardrop-shaped (but longer) Jolly 'Jolly' comes with 700×350 side windows with blinds, side and rear lockable hatches on struts, a roof skylight hatch, interior lining material, a folding bed measuring 2000mm×1400mm (with mattress and ventilation mat), front shelf with LED 12V light, override brakes, four adjustable support legs, carpet, a 20-litre water tank and spare wheel storage box.
The Jolly’s torsion bar suspension is also equipped with shock absorbers and it has a similar 100Ah 12V battery system to the Ariba.
The Jolly is 3720mm long (overall), 1610mm wide and 1800mm high. Tare is 390kg with an ATM of 750kg.
Carlight is also looking to introduce a third, slightly larger, heavier and better equipped pop-top/toy hauler model in the Jolly range called the Mini 270, which features an internal dinette/bed, kitchenette and space to carry a bike or motorcycle loaded through a rear door. Proposed pricing is $36,500.
