A BIG4 mega-park located in the South Australian Tourism hotspot of Hahndorf has won the best Caravan and Holiday Parks trophy in the 2020 Australian Tourism Awards.
Described on the park's website as the "perfect caravan park in the Adelaide Hills", Hahndorf Resort has been transformed into a five-star holiday park since business couple Bryan and Lynn Schirripa bought the run-down property in 2013 and undertook a complete upgrade.
For RV travellers the 30 acre park offers 70 sites, including 'back-in' powered sites up to 22 foot from $43, as well as 'drive-through' powered sites up to 40ft from $48. The dog-friendly park also offers a range of luxury cabins, as well as an on-site bistro, wedding and function centre with resort gardens, amini-golf, laundry, children's park and pool.
More recently, the park has been targeting international visitors and holding regular events including a Glamping Pop-Up on Valentine's Day.
The multi-award winning park has also won best park at the South Australian Tourism Awards for the past three years. Runner up in the caravan park category at the Australian Tourism Awards was the Cairns Coconut Resort in Queensland with the Port Macquarie Breakwall Holiday Park in NSW picking up third spot.
