Austrack Campers is the latest big-selling imported camper trailer and hybrid brand to take on the local manufacturers with a new feature-packed range of full-size hardtop touring and off-grid caravans.
The 20-year-old Queensland-based importer has already displayed examples of its new Zodiac full-size caravan range at shows in Queensland, Western Australia and Victoria this year, with an upcoming appearance at the Border Leisurefest show in Wodonga in late-March.
Austrack is yet to officially announce the new Zodiac touring 'van range on its Facebook page, although full details are available on the new Zodiac Caravans website, including specs and pricing of all eight layouts currently on offer.
According to the website, the Zodiac tandem axle composite 'vans are available in 18ft to 23ft body lengths, and various couple and family layouts, all with separate shower and toilet.

Pricing spans $99,990 to $129,990 depending on the model, and like MDC's 'no options' Gold Class range, even entry-level models come fully equipped for a big luxury lap, including a 690Ah lithium battery system with Arizon 3000W inverter and 750W solar as standard, along with 240L fresh/80L grey water storage and a water filter, a rooftop air-conditioner and diesel space heater, dust reduction system and a washer-dryer combo.
Off-road running gear includes a hot dipped galvanized chassis with Cruisemaster DO-35 coupling and Austuff/Pedders coil/shocks suspension, with Airbag Man airbag suspension available as an option.

Other standard features include a manual awning, powered entry step, wireless reversing camera, Starlink ready connections, leather upholstery, dimmable LED lighting, touchscreen entertainment display, wireless mobile phone chargers, 12V fans and an on-demand hot water system.
The new Chinese-built Zodiac 'vans also come standard with upmarket appliances including a 28in Smart TV, four zone induction cooktop, 180L fridge freezer, microwave and a coffee machine.
Top-spec models get bigger off-grid systems including 920Ah lithium batteries and 1200W solar, along with other upgrades like a multi-function microwave with air fryer.

For something a bit different, the range-topping 23ft Zodiac Onyx central-ensuite model gets twin reclining and massaging lounge chairs with a fold out table in between, instead of the usual club lounge arrangement along the rear wall you often see on the big 'vans (although a 23ft club lounge layout is available too).
There's also a 22ft couple's van with slide-out east-west bed and club lounge available from $114,990. Other stand-out features include wine bottle storage and an external shower with privacy tent.
Listed weights range from 2430kg Tare and 3300kg ATM for the entry-level 18ft model, to 3020kg Tare and 3500-4500kg ATM for the top-spec 23 footer.

Also optional across the range is an external pull-out kitchen and 95L external fridge/freezer.
Zodiac Caravans currently has a showroom in Brisbane, with more show dates lined up around Australia over the coming months.
