An American EV enthusiast has turned his Australian-built hybrid camper into a mobile charging station, with the ultimate aim to be able to camp off-the-grid indefinitely (water and food supplies permitting!) while touring around with his battery-powered Tesla Cybertruck tow vehicle.
The Lifestyle Fusionn Hypercamper is the first of its type sold in the USA by Las Vegas dealer XGrid Campers since it was appointed a US distributor of the Queensland manufactured hybrid campers in 2024.

Priced at USD$71,950, it comes well equipped from Lifestyle's Slacks Creek, Queensland factory with an internal ensuite and large exterior kitchen with induction cooktop, Cruisemaster ATX airbag suspension, and a 12V electrical system with up to 600Ah lithium batteries, 700W rooftop solar and a 3000W inverter charger.
However, its American owner has turned it into a "rolling charging station", thanks to a number of upgrades including the latest Victron 48V electrical system with 20kWh lithium battery pack (the equivalent of an 1600Ah 12V system) and 1400W rooftop solar.

He's also fitted a Tesla Wall Connector in the front boot to turn the camper into a Level 2 charging station, feeding electricity through to his modified Tesla Cybertruck that's also been fitted with a pop-top slide-on camper unit with a Victron 12V 400Ah lithium battery system and 400W additional solar.
Running a charging cord from the camper to tow vehicle (see video below), the Cybertruck's touchscreen shows 25A charging adding around 14 miles of range per hour, or around 16 miles per hour at 30A.
At the same time, the Victron touchscreen inside the camper displays solar power generation of 170W on a cloudy day. The owner says he's planning to add an 800W solar awning to the side of camper as well as some plug-in portable solar blankets, with the aim to make his all-electric rig "unstoppable" out on the road.
Although yet to do full testing he predicts he will be able to camp out for three days, add around 50 miles of range to the Cybertruck's 100kWh-odd battery pack, before heading off again.
"So theoretically, you could slow-walk around the entire country (without having to plug in to an external outlet)," he reckons.
