Queensland's Australian Off Road has given its compact two-berth bush glamping trailer a makeover for MY2024, adding a host of upgrades and improvements to the latest version of its 11ft Odyssey pop-top, some of which have been borrowed from the latest Quantam Series 5 and Sierra models.
AOR claims the new Odyssey Series 3 camper boasts "the most battery and solar capacity in its class", with the 1440kg Tare/2000kg ATM hybrid camper now coming standard with a 300Ah lithium battery system with a 1000W inverter and 350W rooftop solar.
A 2000W inverter, and additional 240Ah lithium battery power and 175W rooftop solar are options, while the Odyssey continues to use the popular Redarc Redvision smart management system.
Externally, the upgraded pull-out kitchen features twin slide-over prep benches, a three burner gas cooktop and sink with mixer tap, plus bigger pull-out drawers and a lift-up hatch for storing odds and ends.
The dust sealed entry door with gas vent cover is carried over from the Odyssey 2 but the latest version is available with an optional 180 degree freestanding awning in lieu of the standard caravan-style wind-out awning.
There's also a bigger rear shower pod on the latest version that runs the full width of the rear to provide more space inside.
"The new rear pod design with a rear window and side access doors also comes with two versatile floors (PVC and mesh), giving you the option to use as a shower or turn into an additional room," AOR says.
Other new features on the Odyssey 3 include stronger weight-reduced flooring, slimline dark-tinted privacy windows and an exo skeletal body frame similar to the Sierra that provides a tougher look as well as improved dust sealing and some protection for the fibreglass panels.
The S3 Odyssey also gets a new standard firewood rack, internal 130L compressor fridge and a slimline external shower mixer.
AOR says it's also slightly easier to push the roof up from inside with new slimline solar panels helping reduce the weight of the roof.
The standard portable toilet continues to be stored in the front tunnel boot, while a 140 litre water tank is standard and second 140L tank an option.
AOR's smallest off-road hybrid camper, the Odyssey 2 was introduced in 2017 as a replacement for the rear-fold Odyssey tent trailer.
The Odyssey S3 is priced from $91,900. Full details on the latest model can be found on the AOR website.
