Wonderland RV are gearing up for another big display of their latest upmarket caravan models at next month's Melbourne Leisurefest, including the public debut of their latest off-grid family van show-stopper complete with unique triple bunk layout.
Wonderland RV's Ana Pepa said the Melbourne manufacturer's new 22ft 11in XTR off-road caravan will be among the stars of a big 15-van display at the Leisurefest show, running at Sandown Racecourse from October 5-9.
Known for their family 'glamour-vans', Pepa said Wonderland's latest 9.3m long tandem axle show van takes off-grid power and family camping comfort to new levels, as well as featuring "a new layout offering a unique twist on our popular quad layout, with three generous sized bunks".
The luxury-lined and spacious layout includes a king-size bed up front (two single-sized plush mattresses joined together), together with an L-shaped lounge/dinette opposite the kitchen, the 2+1 bunk configuration, and a rear ensuite with separate shower and toilet and a 3kg wall-mounted washer and dryer.
Wonderland has also gone all out on the off-grid power storage, with a new Victron-based 48V power system wired up in lockers located along the offside wall that includes two 5kwh Dyness lithium batteries and a 5000w inverter, along with seven 24V solar panels on the roof.
Water is taken care of with two 100 litre freshwater tanks, two 70 litre drinking water tanks and a 100 litre grey water tank, with a Truma Aqua Go unit for continuous hot water.
The beautifully finished show van rides on Wonderland's top-spec platform which includes a 12in Truss chassis with Cruisemaster XT Level 3 Wireless airbag suspension, a D0-45 coupling, disc brakes and 17in ROH black alloys with BF Goodrich off-road tyres.
A 12V Dust Reduction Unit mounted in the ceiling above the king bed will help preserve the premium fit and finish inside, which includes Wilsonart Thinscape engineered stone benchtops, a matte black kitchen sink and tapware, strip mood lighting and dark blue leather upholstery with matching cupboard fascias.
For year-round climate-control there's a Webasto diesel heater to go with rooftop air conditioning, and other appliances include 12V fans and a Fusion audio system.
Cooking is either done inside with the microwave or a plug-in induction cooktop, or outside using the pull-out kitchen with its gas and induction cooktop and stand for a BBQ.
The big family van is also optioned up with chassis mounted toolboxes, a Dometic entry door, ISI quad bike carrier, an anti-flap kit and two curved roof rafters, and BOS stabilizer legs.
Helping protect the custom artwork and shiny exterior of the 4500kg ATM van is a Vantec treatment, while the full chassis and chassis-mounted items also get a nice black Xtreme Guard protective coating.
All this family-friendly flamboyance doesn't come cheap, with the very special XTR five-berth show van retailing at $224,835, or a bit more than the 25ft super-luxury family bunk caravan that Wonderland displayed at the 2022 Leisurefest.
