All Tracks lead to Big Red

A convoy of Track Trailer campers are heading to next month’s Big Red Bash in the Simpson Desert

Around 35 Track Trailer off road vehicles from Mates and Tvans to the latest Topaz hybrid pop-tops are heading for Birdsville in early July for a special owners’ gathering in support of the 2014 Big Red Bash fundraising Desert Music Event organised by the Born to Run Foundation.

As a sponsor of the event, Track Trailer has obtained an exclusive camping spot for owners at the base of the iconic Big Red sand dune at the eastern end of the Simpson Desert – just below the sound stage that will be set up on the top of the famous dune for the July 9-10 concert.

The 2014 ‘Bash’ follows the foundation event staged successfully on Big Red in 2013, but this year’s larger artist line up includes country and popular music luminaries such as Daryl Braithwaite, James Reyne, Joe Camilleri, Ross Wilson, John Williamson and Kasey Chambers.

As part of its sponsorship, Track Trailer owners who pre-register get a $100 discount on the two-day concert ticket, plus their own exclusive camping area and an event tee-shirt.

Track Trailer Marketing Manager Lloyd Waldron said that more than 30 owners – mainly of Mates and Tvans – had so far registered to take part and were coming from all parts of Australia – some detouring from existing outback trips.

He said TT would also be taking up the latest models from each of its three ranges, including the latest 2014-model Topaz, to host the gathering.

“Crossing the Simpson is something many of our owners do as a ‘right of passage’ and also because they can!” said Waldron. “Big Red is their backyard.”

The Track Trailer owners are expected to camp at Big Red between July 8-11.

This year’s National Owners’ Gathering is a dress rehearsal for a larger event that Track Trailer is planning to celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2015, with preliminary details expected to be announced at the Big Red Bash gathering.
