Not long after acquiring G&S Chassis, AL-KO is in the process of picking up another leading independent chassis manufacturer based in Australia’s caravan heartland of Campbellfield, Victoria.
AL-KO has indicated it has signed an agreement to purchase Preston Chassis, which has been producing galvanised and powder-coated steel chassis since the 1970s for a variety of Australian caravan builders, including top-selling brands Concept and New Age.
Founded by Italian immigrants Fernando “Fred” Pasquale and Orazio “Ozzie” Mammola, Preston produces a range of chassis for both on- and off-road vans as well as other products from multiple factories in Campbellfield.
Preston Chassis Industries already has a business relationship with AL-KO, fitting couplings and suspension systems from a number of major brands including AL-KO and Cruisemaster.
According to a statement issued by AL-KO, “Fred and Ozzie sought a strategic buyer who would continue their legacy and continue to grow the business upon their retirement”.
“I am excited by the opportunity to integrate PCI into the DexKo organisation,” said AL-KO’s Australian Managing Director Peter Mannfolk.
“I look forward to the already successful PCI business continuing to service customers, whilst adding the additional support of AL-KO in Australia and the global chassis manufacturing expertise of the DexKo group to take chassis manufacturing in Australia to new heights.”
AL-KO has not released any financial details about the proposed transaction, which will be subject to regulatory approval.
