Families looking for a lightweight caravan have a new option, with Adria launching a new, 4-6 berth Aviva model onto the Australian market.
The new, European-built Aviva 472 PK family caravan features twin rear bunks, a combined front corner shower/toilet, a large double bed, a generous-sized kitchen and a number of small, funky features, all for around $45,000-$47,000.
However, like its
bigger, family-friendly Altea 552 PK brother which currently retails for around $43,000, the new Aviva is capable of being towed by a wide range of vehicles. The 15ft (body length) van boasts a Tare of 1230kg and 1530kg ATM, thanks to its lightweight Al-Ko chassis and rubber torsion suspension, polyester sides and roof and ABS walls.
The interior is typically clean European-style but with some colourful and practical touches, including bright blue highlights for the cupboard door handles, kitchen and bathroom fittings, plus some pull-out plastic tubs in the kitchen and flexible cords for hanging clothes or utensils over the benchtop and dinette.
Another unique touch is a built-in clothes’ line in the front boot, which has a large lid that doubles as a roof when raised up on its gas struts.
While still an on-road caravan, the Australian-spec Aviva 472 PK does ride on bigger 16in wheels and features a raised chassis to provide more road clearance than the European equivalent.
