A'Van releases first side-slider van

Melbourne manufacturer extends RV offerings with new side slide-out caravan and feature-packed hybrid caravan/camper

Popular RV manufacturer A’van has started the year with a bang, rolling out a number of new releases including its first caravan with a side slide-out and new off-road, pop-top van under its Golf camper brand.

On display at the Melbourne Caravan Supershow, the new twin axle, 20ft Infinity 609 caravan cut a striking presence at A’van’s main display area at the show, featuring A’van’s latest ‘Titanium’ exterior finish complemented by stylish graphics and black highlights.

Inside, the classy interior boasted a full width rear ensuite and east-west, Queen size island bed, which slides out to create more room in the bedroom.

Getting to sleep at a decent hour could be a problem though, with an optional 40in, internet-ready LED TV positioned facing the bed, which also slides away into a cabinet when not in use.

Up front is a large club lounge/dinette, while the mid-section is taken up on both sides by kitchen appliances including a four-burner cooktop, grille and oven, rangehood, 175 litre three-way fridge and microwave.

The attractive ‘Euro’ decor (one of three options) incorporates light timber furniture made from European poplar plywood, double glazed tinted windows, and full LED lighting.

Boasting a Tare weight of 2080kg and priced from $58,000, the Infinity 609 sits on a hot-dipped galvanised chassis, and is constructed with aluminium framing and smooth, aluminium-faced composite walls.

The automotive-style, glossy Titanium exterior finish, is also now an option on the company’s original folding A’van range, launched in the mid-1990s, which has been significantly updated for 2013 including a restyled interior.

A’van also used the Melbourne show to reveal a new, go-anywhere hybrid caravan/camper, marketed under its Golf camper range.

Featuring a compact 15ft aluminium body and boasting a 1450kg Tare and 300kg payload, the Golf Savannah pop-top looked ready to hit the Outback, with independent coil suspension, propeller plate body protection and toolbox, and 50W solar pack among its off-road armoury.

Priced at $48,990 towaway, the Savannah also included a double bed, dinette, kitchen with three-burner cooktop, sink, microwave, and 90 litre three-way fridge, radio/CD unit, air conditioning, and awning.

Those who like to sit under the stars at night are also well catered for, with an external galley kitchen and slide-out fridge drawer – perfect for keeping chilled a few chocolate bars and beers!

The new and updated models add to A’van’s already extensive range of RVs manufactured at its impressive Pakenham, Victoria factory, which include full-sized traditional caravans, pop-tops, rear slide-outs and <a title="motorhomes.motorhomes.<
