New Age is trying to grab a bigger slice of the growing, sub-$50,000 fixed roof caravan market, unveiling a new three-model, entry level Road Owl range at the Sydney Caravan Camping Lifestyle Expo.
Aimed at first-time caravanners, camper trailer upgraders and those on tighter budgets, the Road Owl range is initially available in two couple and one family layouts: a 16ft Ensuite Rear Entry, 18ft Ensuite and 19ft Bunk Ensuite.
All feature a queen bed, dinette, kitchenette and separate shower and toilet. However, the 16ft and 18ft Road Owl models have a walk-around queen bed, cafe dinette and full width rear ensuite, whereas the more family-focussed 19ft Road Owl features a front transverse queen bed, club lounge and triple bunks.
Standard equipment across the range includes white aluminium cladding, leaf spring suspension, 9kg gas bottle, 110L water tank, gas/electric hot water system, microwave, 164 litre fridge, and cooktop/grille.
However, buyers can pay an additional $4500 for a Comfort pack which adds an air conditioner, 24in Smart TV bracket, 100Ah battery, BP35BM display unit, TV antenna and external speakers.
The other option is an Adventurer pack, available for an extra $10,750 or $13,500 (depending on model). For that you get all Comfort pack features plus Al-Ko IRS suspension, 16in wheels, 150W solar panel, bigger 184L fridge (except on the 16ft), reverse camera, silver stucco cladding, checkerplate wheel spats, grey checkerplate protection, additional 110L water tank, second 9kg gas bottle, rear bumper bar, recessed coupling, manual double step, picnic table, and A-frame mesh.
Tare weights of the Road Owl vans on display in Sydney ranged from 1670kg to 2360kg, with ATMs from 1970kg to 2760kg.
Recommended pricing for the 16ft Ensuite is $44,900, with the 18ft Ensuite from $46,990 and the 19ft Bunk Ensuite from $48,490.
As a further incentive New Age is offering $1000 cash back for any Road Owl purchased before February 28.
