Low-volume off-road caravan specialist Trakmaster is offering a very special version of its Pilbara S model in the rundown to Christmas.
Trakmaster staff downed tools and celebrated when the 1000th production van rolled off the Bayswater, Victoria production line in September and 'Build #1000' has since been displayed at a number of shows, including Melbourne Leisurefest and the inaugural OutdoorX in Queensland.
According to Trakmaster, which has been in business for 24 years and was bought by Ararat, Victoria-based agricultural machinery manufacturer A.F Gason in 2016, the 18ft 6in tandem axle, fibreglass composite off-road caravan is “fitted with a number of optional extras to commemorate build #1000 that will enhance an off the grid lifestyle wherever you can tow this van”.
Trakmaster says $3700 worth of options have been added to the already "fully loaded" van including an additional 160W solar panel and 120Ah AGM battery (for three batteries and three solar panels in total), along with an upgraded Swift cooktop, grille and microwave for the kitchen.
Other desirable extras include Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ P3 tyres on 16in black alloy wheels, a grey water system to complement 164 litre fresh water storage, a 190 litre Bushman compressor fridge, a Nuova Mapa telescopic table leg to convert the L-shaped lounge/dinette into another bed, and a Dometic Midi Heki skylight to increase natural light and ventilation into the couple’s interior layout which also includes a queen north-south bed and separate shower and toilet.
Also setting the Trakmaster 1000th van apart is a very cheerful lime green upholstery theme for the lounge seats and bedhead.
The ‘demo’ van, which boasts a 2721kg Tare and 3400kg ATM, is currently located at Trakmaster’s Melbourne facility and has a sticker price of $118,000.
For those looking for a similarly well equipped and still relatively new but more affordable Trakmaster off-road couple’s van, Queensland-based caravancampingsales editorial contributor Michael Browning has just put his well-travelled 2016-build Trakmaster up for sale.
Subjected to numerous cross-country on- and off-road adventures over the past four years (you can read about the van and some of his experiences in this owner review),the ‘20th anniversary’ Trakmaster Pilbara Extreme has been “professionally maintained (and is) in as new condition” according to the owner.
The 15ft 6in custom-built van is located on the Gold Coast and is advertised at $92,500. Click here if you're interested.
